Do you ever have trouble going back to sleep when you wake up in the middle of the night? I know I do.

Luckily, I discovered this ridiculous “hack” where I scroll Reddit for 20 minutes, reading about someone else’s cheating spouse or friendship drama. My brain can finally focus on someone else’s problems instead of my own swirling thoughts. And then I drift off to sleep.

Pretty healthy coping mechanism, right? 😅

Well, recently, even that hasn’t been working. Because going on Reddit means I’m blasted with all the recent news, and it’s hard to go back to sleep after filling my brain with worries about Trump dismantling the Department of Education and bird flu becoming the next pandemic.

And I’ve noticed I’m not alone in this.

In my tarot and astrology practice, about half of my readings lately have been focused on helping people cope with the uncertainty and fear of living in the US right now.

All of my conversations with friends seem to lead back to fear and rage about what’s going in. It seems like everyone is feeling this collective wobbliness.

Now back to my story…

One night, after developing my new framework, I woke up at 2AM. Then I remembered how scary things feel right now. But instead of spiraling, I got curious about which tarot card represented my experience.

I realized I was having a Tower moment – that card where everything feels out of control, like the structures I’ve relied on are crashing down around me.

Once I recognized the type of panic I was experiencing, I could move to the next step of my process: leaning into my own strength and courage.

I did a visualization (one I’ll share in the course) and connected with my guides. Soon after, I drifted off to sleep.

And the next day, I had enough energy to show up for the things I care about the most.
